Craniosacral Therapy

Julien Cranio

Craniosacral Therapy is a non–invasive therapy that works with, not only the whole body during a treatment, but the whole mind–body–spirit connection, allowing it to be a holistic form of healing and rejuvenation.

At its essence, Craniosacral Therapy is assisted "self–healing". The body is constantly working to be in a state of healthy balance and has the ability to heal itself if given the right circumstances. All the puzzle pieces for health and well–being are naturally found within our bodies; at times we need support to access these pieces and we benefit from guidance in putting them together to reach our optimum state of equilibrium.

A Craniosacral Therapy session consists of a relaxing, soft touch on the body fascia and along the energy meridians resulting in overall relaxation, increased energy flow and decreased pain. This treatment assists the body in neural re–organization, lymph and organ detoxification, improved energy flow, release of stored trauma and emotions, whole body breathing, normalization of the flow of bodily fluids, realignment of bones, release of nerve restrictions and whole body stress relief.

Craniosacral Therapy is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including but not limited to: migraines, TMJ disfunction, stress and tension related problems, traumatic events, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and other connective tissue disorders, colic, infantile disorders, learning disabilities, chronic neck and back pain, and emotional difficulties.

Craniosacral Therapy has been shown to reduce and even eliminate TMJ discomfort and pain. In a 2009 study, pain and discomfort were reduced by 100% and stress levels were reduced by 50%[1] in only seven weeks! You do not have to suffer any longer.

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is also a great complement with other therapies. When receiving CST alongside Chiropractic treatments, the adjustments hold longer. When receiving it alongside Massage Therapy the muscles and tissues are more receptive and respond more to the manipulations.

"If stressed and overwhelmed, the body's ability to settle and find stillness may be lost and recharging cannot take place. This frequently happens with people who suffer from prolonged stress, or who keep pushing themselves and consequently find it hard to slow down. [ . . . ] Eventually a person can be in a constant state of exhaustion. In this state the body is unable to properly heal and repair as it normally should. Rather than fighting disease, the emphasis of the craniosacral approach is to support health." –– Wisdom in the Body by Michael Kern
